At Vella Chiropractic we offer a variety of gentle techniques and approaches to healing the body. From gentle light force techniques such as Activator and SOT, to hands on adjusting with Diversified and Chiropractic Biophysics. For those expecting mothers, we specialize in the Webster Technique, that has been shown very effective for helping breech babies turn naturally. During your first visit, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss with your Doctor which technique or blend of techniques will be right for you.
The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and diversified adjustment most commonly performed on pregnant patients. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral and pelvic subluxation (misalignment). Improving the biomechanics of the pelvis and sacrum reduces nervous system stress. Sacral subluxation may contribute to difficult labor for the mother (dystocia). Dystocia is caused by inadequate uterine function, pelvic contraction, and baby mal-presentation. The correction of sacral subluxation may have a positive effect on all of these causes of dystocia. Sacral misalignment may contribute to these primary causes of dystocia via uterine nerve interference, pelvic misalignment and the tightening and torsion of specific pelvic muscles and ligaments. The resulting tense muscles and ligaments and their effect on the uterus may prevent the baby from being in the best possible position for birth.
